Church Carillon

Today I had a lovely private tour and live demo of our church carillon. 

About the Church and Carillon
Built in 1925 from local gray fieldstone, the square tower is 67ft in height and surmounted by turreted battlements. The tower contains the bell from the previous church and a memorial set of chime bells (a.k.a. carillon), ranging in size from 275 to 2000 pounds.  The carillon was built and installed way back in 1925 by the MeNeely Bell Company of Troy NY.

Although I intended to mountain bike, Cris and I took a Sunday Drive down to Fox Farm Brewery instead. Its a lovely quiet place and the beer is the best!!!!!

Quarry View - Life is Now

A big event: Quarry View - Life is Now - August 26th.  As always, I had a good time playing percussion and Native American Flutes. The amp helped a bit for the flutes...

Pequot Museum

Cris and I ventured south to the Foxwoods Complex to visit the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center. What an amazing place! We went here ages ago after it first opened and I have been dying to go back ever since... [Should be a required visit for all Ameircans! :-) ]

BTW - Its five stories high and faces the cedar swamp - the vibe here was incredible...
