A travel back in time

Astoria Queens - we lived here in a few different places for quite a few years - fond memories!

We stopped by after dropping my son off at the Manhattan ship terminal for his cruise to Iceland and Greenland with his girlfriend...

Wakefield and Black Point

After my road bike trip through Wakefield yesterday, I fell in love with Main Street and returned with Cris today to check it out.

Wakefield

We walked around the short artsy old downtown area, stopping for coffee and pastries at the bakery - it was very nice!

A Return to Black Point

We returned to the Black Point area to show Greg and Silvia just how lovely it was and they loved it. On the path in you are surrounded by lush fragrant honeysuckle - its a very special place!
Once at the ruins,  we spent time on the rocks - the weather was great!

Magical Narragansett

Summer Vacation 2024

Saturday

After arriving in Narragansett, we drove down the coast and discovered Black Point - a wonderful walk thru myriads of fragrant honeysuckle brought us to the rocky shore...

For dinner we took a short walk down from the house we were staying at to a wonderful restaurant called Celeste - the food was great!

Sunday

Frustratingly the weather was lousy (rain and clouds in the morning) but we walked around the art show (just down the street)

and of course visited the famous Towers and Coast Guard House
An amazing house right nearby!
It did clear mid afternoon and even thought I was sick (nasty music and cough), I took a road bike ride up to the Sprague Bridge.
Later on my bike ride I discovered the Boon Street area right near where we are staying! It was the old train station - how cool is that!!!
