Families Belong Together Rally

Families Belong Together Rally - Stamford Government Center
Short Video

After the Rally, Cris and I wandered over to the now infamous Marilyn Monroe Statue. Her huge butt faces the front of a church! I actually felt dirty walking underneath it and looking up! Pervert!!

But my soul was cleansed with a little beer and a quick sit down at a cafe up the street where a DIVERSE crowd was watching the World Cup! We were quickly caught up in the frenzy...

March For Our Lives - Stamford, CT

March 24th - Gun Control Protest Rally

Mill River Park - Stamford CT

Cris and I were chanting near the front of the rally with John another protester.  News12 Connecticut featured us (our signs AND my chant/rhymes) on the opening of their TV coverage of the event.

Powerful sign on the way further in...

Did you know - 96 Americans are killed everyday on the average from gun-related incidents?

Lots of protesters - lots of signs!
Very powerful - 17 bodies on the ground...

Cris and I and our signs - Cris had a powerful message for sure!

Paul Simon opened the Rally singing the Sounds of Silence...

Strange Rocks - Cape Elizabeth Maine

Trip to Portlalnd Maine

Remembering how much she enjoyed walking on the rocks at Newport, RI last year, Cris and I took a short mid morning excursion to the Lighthouse at Cape Elizabeth.
Despite the sunshine, it was a bit windy and cold

 Petrified Wood?

I have never seen anything like it! When you walk on the rock formation at Cape Elizabeth you swear you are actually walking on a mammoth petrified tree. Only when I picked away a small chip could I confirm it was actually rock and not wood.

It turns this wood-like formation started as grains of sand eons ago but as continents and tectonic plates collided, these sands were compressed, heated and folded and later “intruded” by molten rock resulting in their present uncanny reemblance to wood.

It looked like an ancient shipwreck
